We have recognized that there has again been at least one case of 'Measles' locally.
As had happened a little over a year ago, cases of live measles disease have been brought into our area,
by visitors to our neighboring counties, or by new residents to the area.
We, at C-AP, attempt to vaccinate all of our 1-year-old patients and give a second "booster" dose at kindergarten
(or age 11, if bloodwork was done at kindergarten entry).
Measles is a highly contagious disease, and makes children very ill, with potential devastating outcomes.
If any of our patients have deferred this vaccine, for any reason, they should be vaccinated now.
This "live" virus vaccine has an extremely minimal chance of any side effects, and has been proven to NOT cause autism.
